The United Nations (UN), also known more colloquially as the United Nations Organization (UNO), is an intergovernmental organisation whose stated goals are to uphold international peace and security, foster goodwill among nations, promote international cooperation, and serve as a hub for harmonising national policies. It is the biggest and most well-known international organisation in the world. The UN’s main office is located in New York City, which is on international soil. It also maintains main offices in Geneva, Nairobi, Vienna, and The Hague.
