The Jagannath Temple is an important Hindu temple that honors Jagannath, the avatar of Vishnu, who is one of the Hindu trinity of ultimate divinities. On the northeast Indian coast, Puri is located in the state of Odisha. The annual Ratha Yatra, or chariot festival, at the Puri temple, is famous for featuring the three main deities being hauled by enormous, ornately decorated temple cars. One of the Char Dham pilgrimage locations is there.
