About: Silent Valley National Park is located in the Nilgiri hills. There are some endangered plant and animal species in this national park. Robert Wight, a botanist, explored Silent Valley National Park in 1847. In close proximity to Quiet Valley, the Kunthipuzha River and Bhavani River, both tributaries of the Bharathappuzha River, have their sources. Likewise having its beginnings in Silent Valley National Park, the Kadalundi River. One of the few unaltered areas of tropical moist evergreen forest and South Western Ghats mountain rain forests in India can be found in the national park.
